Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla Reports $37B COVID Vaccine Sales in 2021

Pfizer reported global sales and alliance revenue from its abortion-tainted COVID vaccine brought in $36.78 billion in 2021, helping to more than double profits across its business operations compared with 2020.

In an earnings report issued Tuesday, the pharmaceutical giant also estimated that sales of its vaccine and anti-viral pill will top $54 billion in 2022, buoying shareholders’ hopes that profits at the company might soar for the second year in a row.

Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said the company plans to aggressively expand the use of messenger RNA beyond just COVID vaccines, pointing to potential treatments of muscle, the liver and nervous system, despite warnings from many researchers that the use of mRNA technology carries significant risks.

Despite record earnings, Pfizer shares fell 3% yesterday on Wall Street due to lower than expected 2022 sales forecasts for its anti-viral pill, Paxlovid, which it sells at $530 a course in the United States.

Anti-viral pills like ivermectin, which health chiefs have sought to ban or restrict, typically sell for a few dollars when available, with several scientists suggesting the much-maligned pills are more effective than those produced by Pfizer.

Pfizer said its overall sales in 2022 across the company’s product range could reach $102 billion.

“In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, we committed to use all of the resources and expertise we had at our disposal to help protect populations globally against this deadly virus, as well as to offer treatments to help avoid the worst outcomes when infections do occur,” Bourla said yesterday. “We put billions of dollars of capital on the line in pursuit of those goals, not knowing whether those investments would ever pay off.”

Reacting to the earnings on Twitter, some commentators remarked on how beneficial mass-vaccination programs had been to the company’s balance sheet.

Bourla also said yesterday that Pfizer’s vaccine for the Omicron variant would not be ready for distribution until March, casting further doubt on calls from health officials and mainstream media outlets to vaccinate people now with shots made for previous variants.

The CEO acknowledged that the eradication of COVID is unlikely to be achieved because of mutations and the virus’ global spread, with some scientists previously warning that new vaccines were contributing to the growth of variants.

Dr. Michael Yeadon, former Pfizer vice president and chief scientist for respiratory research, last week called on the media to apologize for their “lies” about vaccine safety as leaked data from the U.S. military indicated a 300% increase in miscarriages in 2021.

Yeadon, who spent 32 years in the industry leading new medicines research and retired from the pharmaceutical giant with the most senior research position in his field, was an author of a submitted petition to the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in December 2020 that raised substantial concerns regarding a lack of sufficient testing of the experimental COVID-19 gene-based vaccines before their emergency use authorizations.

With regard to the possibility of the shots endangering the fertility of women, Yeadon and his colleague, Dr. Wolfgang Wodarg, wrote, “There is no indication whether antibodies against spike proteins of SARS viruses would also act like anti-Syncytin-1 antibodies. However, if this were to be the case, this would then also prevent the formation of a placenta which would result in vaccinated women essentially becoming infertile.”

Such a possibility would need to be ruled out through standard experimentation before imposing such substances onto the entire population, according to the doctors.

“It’s important to note that none of these gene-based agents had completed what’s called ‘reproductive toxicology,’” Yeadon wrote in his recent statement. “Over a year later, this battery of tests in animals still has not been done. So there was and still is no data package supporting safety in pregnancy or prior to conception.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released data in December showing a total of 965,843 reports of adverse events after COVID vaccines were submitted between Dec. 14, 2020, and Dec. 10, 2021, to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS).

The data included a total of 20,244 reports of deaths and 155,506 reports of serious injuries, including deaths, during the same period.

On Saturday, November 6, 2021, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit temporarily suspended the Biden administration’s emergency temporary standard (“OSHA ETS”) for employers with 100 or more employees. As we reported last week, the OSHA ETS mandates that covered employers implement COVID-19 vaccination or regular testing requirements for employees. Citing “grave and constitutional issues,” the three-judge Fifth Circuit panel put the newly issued rule on hold pending further litigation. The stay order has nationwide effect.

While lawsuits challenging the brand-new OSHA ETS were filed by 27 states and private businesses in multiple circuits (including the Sixth Circuit), the conservative Fifth Circuit was the first court to rule on the issue. Challengers argue that the OSHA ETS is illegal, in that it exceeds the authority of, and is not proper subject matter for, the issuing agency (OSHA), and would be counterproductive by further straining an already tight labor market. The Biden administration contends that the OSHA ETS is lawful and necessary to help end the COVID-19 pandemic, and stated it will vigorously defend the ETS in forthcoming court proceedings.

The U.S. is one of the few countries still recommending masks in schools as most nations let kids attend classes without face coverings.

Although states are allowed to set their own rules, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggests universal indoor masking for all students above age two regardless of vaccination status.

In fact, 68.2 percent of the 500 of the largest school districts in America still require masks, according to data analytics firm Burbio.

However, at least 14 countries, including the UK, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Australia, don’t require kids to wear face coverings

Aside from the U.S., DailyMail.com could only identify six other Western countries where masking is broadly required or recommended in schools: Canada, France, Italy, Portugal, Romania and Spain.

In Canada, America’s closest neighbor, provinces get to set their own rules just like states do in the U.S., with most instituting mask mandates.

Of the 10 provinces, two require masks for all K-12 students, one requires for grades 1-12, two require for grades 4-12 and three require masking across all students.

The remaining two provinces, Quebec and Newfoundland & Labrador, only don’t require masks if case rates in the surrounding areas are low.

In France, mandatory face masks had been lifted by the requirement is being reimposed for all elementary school students as of November 15 due to rising case rates.

Meanwhile, in Italy, Portugal, Spain and Romania, millions of children started of the school year wearing masks.

Recent studies have found that children are just as likely as adults to test positive for Covid, but about half are asymptomatic compared to 10 percent of over-18s.

The risk of being hospitalized and death is much smaller with less than 0.1 percent of kids falling severely ill or dying of Covid.

And because of this low risk, most Western nations have opted to ditch the masks and have kids return to ‘normalcy’ in classrooms.

In the UK, for example, millions of children returned to schools in early September with face coverings not required.

And while masks are a politically divisive issue in the U.S., members of both the Conservative and Labour Parties in the UK have stated that wearing masks prevent children from being able to communicate and socialize.

A recent DailyMail.com analysis found that kids in the U.S. are being hospitalized at a rate up to four times higher than kids in the UK.

In Scandinavian countries – Denmark, Norway and Sweden – almost all COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted, including mask mandates.

In fact, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health advises against school-aged children wearing masks.

In Irelands, kids under age 13 are not required to wear masks and in Iceland and the Netherlands, middle and high school students are only required to do so when not seated in classrooms.

So why are Europeans less likely to mandate masks in schools? There are a few reasons.

Firstly, many European populations are more vaccinated than several U.S. states.

For example, West Virginia and Idaho have yet to vaccinate 50 percent of their populations compared to more than 70 percent in all Nordic countries, according to data from the U.S. CDC and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.

Secondly, trust in authority figures is higher in the European Union than in the U.S.

‘Because of this, parents and the policymakers representing them may feel less need to protect children from each other with masks,’ writes Anthony La Mesa in Medium.

Another reason could be that more testing occurs in Europe than in the U.S.

Currently the UK’s Department of Education requires all secondary school students, between ages 11 and 18, be tested at home twice a week using tests.

Additionally, Norway is mass testing students to phase out quarantining students amid Covid outbreaks.

Because there is no regular testing at many U.S. schools, kids are being sent to classrooms instead of being kept at home because tests aren’t detecting these cases.

This can lead to these children being hospitalized themselves or infecting other children who end up hospitalized.

NYC, Police, Fire, Municipal Workers Protest

On the heels of arguably America’s largest vaccine mandate protest on Monday, seeing New York City’s essential workers march across the Brooklyn Bridge, the story is coming to a head rapidly.

Renewed protests hit NYC again Thursday as police, fire, and municipal city workers gathered by the thousands outside Mayor de Blasio’s Gracie Mansion. The city’s vaccine mandate, which takes effect this Friday at 5 p.m., covers 160,000 municipal employees, including cops and firefighters. According to the order, which went into effect only nine days earlier for all City workers, a first shot of the COVID vaccine by 5 p.m. Friday is mandated if they want to come to work the morning of November 1. Any city workers who do not comply with the mandate will be placed on unpaid leave.

Many are concerned that the city’s safety will be threatened by de Blasio’s ‘suspension without pay’ edict for those refusing to take the shot.

The situation is fluid and playing out by the minute. Bloomberg is reporting the NYPD Has 10,000, or about one-third of uniformed officers, are unvaccinated as the mandate deadline approaches. NY Daily News is reporting The NYC Correction Department is faring the worst, with only 52% of its members vaccinated, while only 68% of the FDNY has received at least one dose of the vaccine.

On Wednesday, October 20, De Blasio extended vaccine mandates to all public employees, eliminating test out options.

Speaking at the protest, 16-year veteran NYC firefighter and president of the United Women’s Firefighters, Jackie Michelle-Martinez stated, “Nine days is not enough time for people who have mortgages, who have family, who have sick children, to make a life-changing decision.”

New York Uniformed Firefighters Association president Andrew Ansbro said, “On November 1st there’s gonna be a crisis in this city if thirty to forty percent of firefighters are sent home, we will have to close houses.”

Federal Judge Temporarily Bans Biden Admin From Firing Unvaccinated Employees

A federal judge for the district court in Washington, DC, issued a temporary restraining order on Thursday barring the Biden administration from firing both unvaccinated civilians and active-duty military members, Fox News reported.

The order comes after 20 plaintiffs sued the Biden administration for its handling of religious exemptions in its Chinese coronavirus vaccine mandate for federal employees. President Joe Biden issued an executive order on September 9 requiring all employees working for a federal contractor or subcontractor to get vaccinated against the Chinese coronavirus by November 24 to be considered “fully vaccinated” by a December 8, 2021, deadline. The mandate will also order private companies with more than 100 employees to implement required vaccinations or weekly testing for employees.

“None of the civilian employee plaintiffs will be subject to discipline while his or her request for a religious exception is pending,” District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly ordered, according to a Minute Order obtained by Fox News.

In her ruling, Kollar-Kotelly also ordered “active duty military plaintiffs, whose religious exception requests have been denied, will not be disciplined or separated during the pendency of their appeals,” the report states.

The Biden administration must file a supplemental notice by noon on Friday stating if they will agree to comply with the court’s ruling that no plaintiff will be fired or disciplined before the court rules in the case.

The administration has faced intense backlash since Biden announced the mandate, especially since he repeatedly promised to make vaccination voluntary. After much pressure, on Wednesday, the White House Coronavirus Response coordinator, Jeffrey Zients, claimed federal contractors “will not be required to immediate [sic] lay-off workers” and will allow time for “education, counseling and other measures before potentially ending employment,” Reuters reported.

In a statement obtained by Fox News from the plaintiff’s attorney, Michael Yoder, Yoder said the Biden administration has displayed “an unprecedented, cavalier attitude toward the rule of law and an utter ineptitude at basic constitutional contours.”

This combination is dangerous to American liberty. Thankfully, our Constitution protects and secures the right to remain free from religious persecution and coercion. With this order, we are one step closer to putting the Biden administration back in its place by limiting government to its enumerated powers. It’s time citizens and courts said no to tyranny. The Constitution does not need to be rewritten, it needs to be reread.

Notably, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) administration announced on Thursday that it also filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration for its Chinese coronavirus vaccine mandates, suing both Biden and NASA.

This case is Church v. Biden, No. 1:21-cv-2815 in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.

Doctor With Natural Immunity Fired For Fefusing Vaccine & Using Ivermectin

St. Louis ICU physician - who fought the COVID-19 pandemic on the front lines for 18 months - is out of a job after refusing to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

A local ICU physician – who fought the Covid pandemic on the front lines for 18 months – is out of a job after refusing to get the vaccine.

Dr. Mollie James said she was employed at two health systems in the Midwest, including in St. Louis, for much of the pandemic. She was also splitting her time between local hospitals and one in New York.

James has worked as a trauma and acute care surgeon for 11 years, four of which were spent in St. Louis.

“When the pandemic hit I just felt a calling to go to New York when they called for volunteers,” she said. “So I went there in April of 2020 and I liked being in the midst of it. My purpose for going was to help them out, but also to see what they were doing in real time and what was the most effective for patients so I could bring that back to the community.”

For most of the last year and a half, James said she traveled between New York and St. Louis, working with critical ICU patients infected with COVID-19 in multiple hospitals.

“I was scared, so I have a lot of empathy for the people who live in fear, because we didn’t know,” she said. “About that time nurses were dying. Doctors were dying. And so I didn’t know what we were getting into.”

James said she tested positive for Covid in March of 2020, about a month before volunteering to go to New York. Still, she said she was nervous. “We had freezer trucks serving as morgues outside my hospital so it was a very real reminder to wear all of the personal protective gear,” she said.

During her time treating patients at the height of the pandemic, James said one of the first big improvements in treatment she witnessed was the addition of steroids and blood thinners to treatment protocols.

In December of 2020, James said the Senate testimony of Dr. Pierre Kory, a fellow ICU physician, caught her eye.

“He started talking about Ivermectin,” she said. “At the time, I wasn’t familiar with that medication, so I started looking into it and the dosing protocols and the side effects and the downsides to it. We started slowly using it in a few patients, then the pandemic numbers went down and I didn’t really see a big difference at that time.”

When a surge of Covid cases hit southwest Missouri, James said she started doing additional research on the drug and the concept of early outpatient treatment.

“There’s an entire protocol and Ivermectin is a key part of it. We use blood thinners and different vitamins along with a stronger steroids than most people use, called Methylprednisolone. We combine that with Ivermectin and that combination seems to be extremely effective.”

“I had two patient successes at the hospital that was offering it and they pulled it off the shelf a week later,” James said. “I was told it wasn’t approved by the COVID committee so doctors who were not involved in the patient’s care, my patient’s care, were making decisions about what I could use.”

Dr. Clay Dunagan, the head of the St. Louis Metropolitan Pandemic Task Force, looked into James’ claims but said there are better treatment options available. “It’s conceivable that Ivermectin has some impact early in the disease but it’s not really something we should be using. We have other drugs that are more effective,” he said.

Dunagan said early data shows Ivermectin doesn’t make much of a difference and he believes Remdesivir, an anti-viral drug, along with other steroids benefit patients more.

James said the decision should be between a patient and their doctor.

“When I was able to properly dose and use Ivermectin in an ICU patient, I saw the fastest turnaround of any patient out of probably a couple thousand that I’ve treated,” James said.

“When you have administrators telling physicians what medications they can prescribe, or how to counsel patients regarding interventions or telling them not to do something they believe is in the patient’s best interest, I think doctors have an obligation to leave those situations.”

Because James recovered from COVID-19, she believes her natural immunity outweighs any medical need for a vaccine. She said she doesn’t actively encourage her patients to get vaccinated, but did add she believes it’s a decision that should ultimately be left up to a patient and their doctor.

James admits her position on the use of Ivermectin and vaccination status places her in the minority of healthcare workers. Still, she said she’s speaking out based on the tragedy she’s witnessed firsthand.

“I think there are a lot of people living in fear, they’ve been sold fear for a long time. They don’t need to be afraid, they just need to be informed,” James said. “They need to arm themselves with the knowledge and potentially the medications so they know what to do and get back to life.”

James is in private practice now, seeing patients virtually from across the country. She said she will prescribe several medications, including Ivermectin, to patients who have tested positive.

“Everyone is a candidate for early treatment. I believe its 85 percent effective in keeping people out of the hospital.”

She adds she’s run into roadblocks at pharmacies, with pharmacists unwilling to fill prescriptions for Ivermectin. Insurance companies don’t cover it either, leaving patients to pay out-of-pocket.

United Airlines Cuts Number of Workers Facing Termination Over Vaccine Noncompliance

A federal judge ordered United Airlines not to place workers seeking an exemption to the company’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate on unpaid leave.

The employees, who include two pilots and one flight attendant, accused the airline of discrimination against workers who requested accommodation, saying the policy violated the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Civil Rights Act, according to the lawsuit.

Pittman's restraining order, which expires on October 26, is only a temporary halt to United's policy while he hears more arguments on the case.

The temporary ruling was issued by U.S. District Judge Mark Pittman so workers who filed for an exemption aren’t unduly harmed before he can hear oral arguments in the case.

Six United workers sued the company last month over its plans to put on leave any employees who requested religious or medical exemptions. The suit said the employees were effectively told they’d be terminated if they sought exemptions and alleged that the company was violating Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Americans with Disabilities Act, or ADA.

“United’s actions have left Plaintiffs with the impossible choice of either taking the COVID-19 vaccine, at the expense of their religious beliefs and their health, or losing their livelihoods. In doing so, United has violated Title VII and the ADA by failing to engage in the interactive process and provide reasonable accommodations, and also by retaliating against employees who engaged in protected activity,” the suit states.

United and the plaintiffs reached an agreement that the company would not place exempted employees on leave during a Sept. 24 hearing, Pittman said, obviating the need for an immediate ruling. He planned to hear arguments on a motion for a preliminary injunction on Oct. 8 but United filed a partial motion to dismiss, alleging the court lacked jurisdiction over some of the claims.

The hearing was reset to Oct. 13. Ahead of the arguments, Pittman said he concluded it was necessary to issue a temporary restraining order that is effective through Oct. 31.

Absent entry of the order, “the parties’ stipulation will expire before the Court can rule on whether a preliminary injunction is warranted,” the Trump nominee wrote.

“If the parties’ stipulation were to expire without temporary injunctive relief in place, nothing would prevent hundreds of workers from ostensibly either: (1) being compelled to take a vaccination in violation of their religious beliefs or medical restrictions, or (2) being placed on indefinite unpaid leave by United,” he added.

United said earlier this month that 320 workers in the United States, or 0.5 percent of the U.S. workforce, were not in compliance with its COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

United told news outlets after Pittman’s order that “vaccine requirements work and nearly all of United’s U.S. employees have chosen to get a shot.”

“For a number of our employees who were approved for an accommodation, we’re working to put options in place that reduce the risk to their health and safety, including new testing regimens, temporary job reassignments, and masking protocols,” the airline said.

Mark Paoletta, an attorney representing the plaintiffs, told The Epoch Times in an email that United’s “refusal to provide reasonable accommodations to its vaccine mandate violates the federal civil rights protections of our clients, the hard working men and women at United,” adding, “We look forward to our clients’ rights being permanently protected.”

Judge Overrules NY Governor - Employers Must Grant Religious Exemptions

A federal judge in New York ruled on Tuesday that State Health Officials must allow employers to grant religious exemptions to a Covid-19 vaccine mandate for healthcare workers while a lawsuit challenging the mandate proceeds through the courts, according to the NY Times.

"The question is whether the State’s summary imposition of § 2.61 conflicts with plaintiffs’ and other individuals’ federally protected right to seek a religious accommodation from their individual employers," wrote Judge David N. Hurd, a Bill Clinton appointee.

"The answer to this question is clearly yes. Plaintiffs have established that § 2.61 conflicts with longstanding federal protections for religious beliefs and that they and others will suffer irreparable harm in the absence of injunctive relief," reads the 27-page ruling, which offers a reprieve for thousands of unvaccinated doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers who would have otherwise been fired or prevented from working on Tuesday if the ruling had gone the other way.

Hurd issued a preliminary injunction preventing the NY Department of Health from acting against any employer who grants religious exemptions, adding that the plaintiffs were likely to succeed in their case.

"The Department of Health is barred from interfering in any way with the granting of religious exemptions from Covid-19 vaccination going forward, or with the operation of exemptions already granted," reads the ruling.

New York Governor Kathy M. Hochul indicated that the state would appeal.

"My responsibility as governor is to protect the people of this state, and requiring health care workers to get vaccinated accomplishes that," she said. "I stand behind this mandate, and I will fight this decision in court to keep New Yorkers safe."

In late-August, Hochul's administration overrode a religious exemption contained within former Gov. Cuomo's original vaccine mandate - prompting 17 healthcare workers to sue the state in federal court, claiming that the mandate conflicted with their religious beliefs "because they all employ fetal cell lines derived from procured abortion in testing."

"With this decision, the court rightly recognized that yesterday’s ‘front line heroes’ in dealing with Covid cannot suddenly be treated as disease-carrying villains and kicked to the curb by the command of a state health bureaucracy," said Christopher Ferrara of the Thomas More Society.

Tuesday's order technically extends an earlier temporary restraining order which applied to religious exemptions filed in mid-September onward - effectively allowing many healthcare workers to continue working even after the mandate went into effect.

In the federal case, titled Dr. A et al v. Hochul, the 17 health care workers argued that they could not consent to be inoculated with vaccines “that were tested, developed or produced with fetal cell lines derived from procured abortions.”

Pope Francis has said that Catholics may get the Covid-19 vaccines; most of the health care workers suing in the case are Catholic. But Judge Hurd did not question whether the health care workers were correct in their religious objections. Instead, he focused on their broader constitutional right to have their religious beliefs considered, and when possible, accommodated. -NYT

Unvaccinated NYC Teachers Must Waive Right To Sue If They Want To Keep Health Benefits

Aside from being put on unpaid leave, New York City teachers who’ve declined to get the COVID-19 vaccine won’t be allowed to keep their health benefits for another year unless they give up their right to sue the city over its vaccine mandate.

The secret is not to refuse the vaccine.

This condition was the result of an arbitration invoked by the city’s largest teachers union, the United Federation of Teachers (UFT). The union touted the arbitration verdict as a victory that forced the city to acknowledge medical and religious exemptions to the vaccination. It also allowed the teachers to take a year of unpaid leave with continued health care coverage or voluntarily resign with unused sick days paid out and a year of continued health insurance.

But the UFT Sept. 10 press release on the issue left out the caveat that the health benefits would only continue beyond Nov. 30 for those who sign waivers preventing them from suing the city for getting fired. It did include a link to the arbitration verdict that, on page 17, states the waiver requirement. But several teachers told The Epoch Times the DOE only explicitly told them about the condition about a week ago, right before the mandate went into effect.

Based on last week’s data, several thousand teachers and other school workers remain unvaccinated.

An official with the city’s Department of Education (DOE) distanced the agency from imposing the waiver requirement.

“This stipulation was given out by a third-party arbitrator,” the official told The Epoch Times on the condition of anonymity. “Unions and DOE both agreed to it; DOE didn’t make this decision.”

But the arbitration verdict says its rulings “reflect” what the parties agreed to before and during the mediation as well as the “language” the parties agreed to in response to the arbitrator’s interim rulings.

It suggests that the conditions of the unpaid leave in particular were left to the parties to sort out.

“I concluded the parties are more familiar with Department [of Education] policy and how to leave and entitlements have been administered in accordance with prior agreements,” the arbiter said.

The ruling says the affected employees have from Nov. 1 to 30 to extend their leave and the connected benefits.

“An employee must file a form created by the DOE which includes a waiver of the employee’s rights to challenge the employee’s voluntary resignation, including, but not limited to, through a contractual or statutory disciplinary process,” it says.

It’s not clear how hard the union pushed against the requirement. It hasn’t responded to a request for comment.

The issue underscores the dissatisfaction of the unvaccinated teachers with both the city and the union. They feel justified in holding back on the vaccine and believe the city has tossed them aside and the union failed to protect them, according to several conversations between them and The Epoch Times.

The vaccines, developed in record time and still in the process of clinical trials, are known to cause severe side effects such as myocarditis, particularly in young men, and blood clots, though authorities and experts say these are rare and pose a lower risk than the disease itself. The vaccines don’t necessarily prevent one from contracting and spreading COVID-19, but clinical trials indicate they minimize symptoms, which are primarily a concern for the elderly or those with preexisting conditions.
