FBI and So. District of NY Raid Project Veritas Journalists’ Homes

FBI and Southern District of NY Raid Project Veritas Journalists’ Homes.

It's alleged that someone stole Joe Biden's Daughters Diary (according to this article).  If it is legitimate there are some serious allegations of sexual assault in the diary.

The FBI raided two addresses in New York on Thursday linked to Project Veritas, as part of a probe into the alleged theft of President Biden's daughter's diary, according to the New York Times, which curiously knew about the raid an hour after it happened, according to Veritas founder James O'Keefe.

Search warrants were executed at a Midtown Manhattan apartment of longtime Veritas employee Spencer Meads.

While Veritas did not publish excerpts of the diary, another conservative outlet ran dozens of handwritten pages from it on October 24, 2020 in the final days of the US presidential election. The website claimed that they received the documents from a whistleblower at another organization that would not publish the information.

According to the report, Project Veritas said it knew the whereabouts of the actual diary and had a recording of Ashley Biden admitting it was hers.

"Late last year, we were approached by tipsters claiming they had a copy of Ashley Biden’s diary," said O'Keefe," adding "the tipsters indicated that they were negotiating with a different media outlet for the payment of monies for the diary."

"At the end of the day, we made the ethical decision that because, in part, we could not determine if the diary was real, if the diary, in fact, belonged to Ashley Biden, or if the contents of the diary occurred, we could not publish the diary and any part thereof."

O'Keefe said that they turned the diary over to law enforcement after Ashley Biden's attorney refused to accept or authenticate it.

The PV founder added in a statement: "We do not know how The New York Times was aware of the execution of a search warrant at our reporter’s home, or the subject matter of the search warrant, as a Grand Jury investigation is secret."

The Times claims that the DOJ has been investigating the matter since October 2020, after a representative from the Biden family reported that several of Ashley Biden's personal items were stolen in a burglary.

Lockdowns May Have Had Little Effect on COVID-19 Spread

Data show that compulsory lockdowns have had a high cost, with a questionable impact on transmission.

In 1932, Justice Louis Brandeis of the Supreme Court famously referred to the states as "democracy laboratories." Different states can test different policies and can learn from each other. In 2020, that proved valid. Governors in various states react to the COVID-19 pandemic at different times and in different ways. Sweeping shutdowns were ordered by some states, such as California. A more targeted approach was taken by others, such as Florida. Others, such as South Dakota, transmitted data but had no lockdowns at all.

As a consequence, to test the question no one wants to ask, we can now compare findings in various states: Did the lockdowns make a difference?

If the course of this pandemic was really altered by lockdowns, then the coronavirus case counts should have fallen clearly whenever and wherever lockdowns took place. The effect, albeit with a time lag, should have been apparent. It takes time to formally count new coronavirus infections, so we'd expect the numbers to fall as soon as the waiting time is over.

For how long? New infections should drop on day one and be noticed about ten or eleven days from the beginning of the lockdown. The number of patients with the first signs of infection should decrease by day six (the average time for symptoms to show is six days). By day nine or ten, far fewer people will be going to hospitals with deteriorating symptoms. If COVID-19 tests were conducted immediately, we would expect the positives to drop dramatically on day 10 or 11 (assuming rapid test turnarounds).

To judge from the evidence, the answer is clear: Mandated lockdowns had little effect on the spread of the coronavirus. The charts below show the daily case curves for the United States as a whole and for thirteen U.S. states. As in almost every country, we consistently see a steep climb as the virus spreads, followed by a transition (marked by the gray circles) to a flatter curve. At some point, the curves always slope downward, though this wasn’t obvious for all states until the summer.

20 States Borrow From Feds to Pay Unemployment Benefits

States Borrow From Feds to Pay Unemployment Benefits

In order to fund unemployment benefits, at least 20 states are running out of money and preparing to borrow from the federal government, raising concerns that higher business taxes will affect struggling workers still suffering from shutdowns.

Trust accounts for unemployment insurance are funded by corporate taxes that payout payments to laid-off employees. State and federal legislation cause tax increases to replenish the accounts if the funds appear to run out of funding, as they do now in several states.

The non-partisan New Jersey Legislative Services Office reported last week that the rebalancing of the books would save employers $919 million in new unemployment payroll taxes next year. News outlets quoted some New Jersey legislators as saying that, as the state did during the Great Recession, they might pass legislation to spread the effect over many years.

To augment unemployment trust funds and prevent some of the rises in business income, some states have used federal coronavirus relief dollars.

The U.S. Treasury Department reports 20 states that have sought loans as of Sept. 18 to fund unemployment compensation. California, Illinois, Massachusetts, New York and Texas are now borrowing billions of dollars.

Since the Great Recession, many states have just recently replenished their unemployment funds. After the decline, some states passed laws to allow business tax increases to spread out over several years to mitigate the impact.

Nationally, the average tax on state unemployment benefits went down from 3.8 percent to 1.8 percent between 2012 and 2020 as funds were replenished, according to an Equifax study.
